  Faculty of Arts & World Culture -     The Hermitage Summer Arts Institute

 


Faculty of Arts and world culture - The Hermitage Summer Arts Institute is joint collaboration center with the State Art Academy of Painting Culpture and Architecture.

We are proud to introduce the original events coming our of The  Anniversary of St. Petersburg 's Birth and Hermitage Summer 2006 - Arts Institutes ( 2 programmes), under the main programme of WORLD ARTS & CULTURAL ORIENTATION PROGRAMME, in St.Petersburg as 'one of the most beautiful, old and most preserved cities of the world'.


Our main idea is to present to our visitors/students and artists the proud city of a glorious past, its architecture, its arts, to tell you and show you about its maritime and commercial past, science, philosophy, literature, diplomacy, culture and any other facet of life that in many ways presented the avant-garde throughout the historical pace of Europe.
The goal of the Culture Programme is to contribute to the renewal, development and integration of the different spheres of Russian and American Culture in the context of global culture. The programmes encourage experimentation, qualitative innovation, co-operation among the various Russian ethnic and confessional minority cultures, and creative contacts with Western and Eastern cultures

The purpose of the program is getting acquainted with Russia's History, Development and Culture.

The topics:
1. The History of the St. Petersburg and Russian State.
2. Russia's Cultural Monuments and Theatres.
3. Eating Culture as a layer of mixture of Russia's nationalities.
4. Russian language.
5. Theatrical art as the reflection of Russia's soul.

ST.PETERSBURG: From the immemorial time Russian north-western region ( where St.Petersburg lies now) has been known as the Land of Izhora. Here the river Neva discharges its water into the Gulf of Finland. The Land of Izhora served Russia as the gateway to the Baltic Sea and it was here that the trading route connecting the West with the East began. In the 8th and the 9th centuries the famous road from the Varangian to Greek passed here via the river routes from the Baltic to the Black Sea. For Full Story...

 

The Hermitage

The treasure of the Hermitage, the largest museum in Russia, are famous throughout the world. The State Hermitage comprises the complex of five buildings.

2. The Small Hermitage ( V.de la Monthe -1775),

4. The Hermitage Theatre (G.Quarenhi - 1787),

5. The New Hermitage ( L.Klenze - 1852)

CULTURAL PROGRAMME
Hermitage Summer 2006 - Art Institutes

The goal of the Culture Programme is to contribute to the renewal, development and integration of the different spheres of Russian and World Culture in the context of global culture. The programmes encourage experimentation, qualitative innovation, co-operation among the various Russian ethnic and confessional minority cultures, and creative contacts with Western and Eastern cultures.
This programme block comprises the programmes of Cultural Infrastructures, Performing Arts, and the Soros and Paul Getty Centre for Contemporary Arts. Jointly with the Publishing Programme, presentation of Russian Culture was undertaken at the "East-West" festival in Die (France). A wide variety of attractions was offered to the visitors of the festival, from folk crafts to publishing. Over 500 American Artists , teachers and students participated in this 26-day event.
