Introduction

In line with the Short and Mid Term Strategic Planning of the National Committee On Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCTCAM)  the introduction of the of CAM / Integrative Medicine Curricula.

Prior to the implementation of the above mentioned program, foreign Medical Schools with an established Under Grad and Post Grad Curricula will be invited to familirize and to assist the interested Indonesian Medical Schools toward the implementation of CAM /Integrative Medicine into their Curricula.

The involvement of both the National Institute of Health National Council on Complemenetary and Alternative Medicine

Knowledgeable and well experienced individual in both Conventional Medicine and TCAM, who are also academically qualified , will be assigned by the NCTCAM to formulize the "design of the cooperation" among the foreign CAM Research Institutes, Medical Schools and Professional CAM Organizations with NCTCAM..

The Proposed Participation of IUFS Post Graduate Program in Medical Science

In fact at this moment both IUFS PGP MS and the other  Medical Schools have no CAM/ Integrative Medicine Program in their curricula, at IUFS is internationally well qualified and experienced in TCAM/ Integrative Medicine professor team .It is worth knowing that as a Medical Specialist in Acupuncture Medicine (known as Reflexo Therapy in Russia) he was elected as Member of the Emergency International Medical Team.o

The Goals and Objectives

Based on the previously mentioned fact it is considered very beneficial for both IUFS PGP MS and NCTCAM in the case the following proposed idea will be agreed by both Parties (IUFS and NCTCAM).

NCTCAM will assign IUFS PGP MS EIMP together with the Russian Military Academy of Medicine or other Russian State Medical School, as the First Foreign Consultant of NCTCAM, who will design the Research Format and for CAM Researches , etc ( see Attachment I).
IUFS PGP MS EIMP , the Russian Medical School and NCTCAM will collaborate in the selection and affiliation with Foreign Medical Schools CAM/IM Program. ( like Arizona Medical Center Fellowship Program in Integrative Medicine, Duke University, Southampton Medical School (UK), Swinburne Graduate School of IM (Australia) etc), in addition to the submission NCTCAM Reseach Proposal to NIH NCCAM (USA) and WHO Office of Traditional Medicine.

In that case IUFS PGP MS EIMP will be introduced to the International CAM/ Integrative Medicine Academic Community.and Research Institutions.

NCTCAM Board Meeting discussing about Research and Education Policies will be conducted on the 25 of April 2003, we highly appreciate that IUFS Board Confirmation could be received as soon as possible. We shall make our every effort that IUFS PGP MS EIMP and its partner / affiliate a Russian Military Academy of Medicine or other Russian Medical School will have the opportunity to hold a Strategic Role in the relative new Field of Study of Integrative Medicine, parallel with Top USA, UK and Australian Medical Schools.

In short the previously mentioned two State Medical Schools are expected to play a strategic role in the introduction of CAM /Integrative Medicine at the Indonesian Medical Schools Curricula in addition to become one of the main Research Centers of CAM in Indonesia in cooperation with the IUFS PGP MS EIMP,the Russian Medical School and other Foreign Medical Schools and CAM Research Institutions
